Racehorse Rehabilitation
At Foxtrot we are passionate about rehabilitating thoroughbred ex-racehorses,
with the aim of r- homing each and every one to long term, loving homes.
We are dedicated to the welfare of ex-racehorses and have specialised in their re-training for many years.
Racehorses we have re-trained have progressed to compete over a range of equine disciplines from Polo, Show jumping, Dressage, Eventing, Endurance, Showing and general riding. Each horse that comes to us is assess
ed on its individual ability, aptitude and temperament, before being placed on an appropriate re-training programme.
There are many reasons why racehorses are sent for re-training, many are just too slow for racing, and some just have incredible ability and jump too well! Some can be too calm due to an excessively relaxed temperament, whilst others have left the racing scene because of injury.
More and more people are realising the suitability and advantages of using re-trained racehorses for other equine disciplines, such as general riding
. These days, there's an ever increasing number of competitions and classes for ex racehorses.
We offer a wide variety of different services –
1. Retraining clients ex-racehorses that have just come out of racing.
2. We are also happy to provide individual coaching and schooling sessions to clients with retrained racehorses
3. We accept horses from racing trainers, which we assess, retrain and offer for loan or sale depending on each horses requirements.
